Creating a windows 7 self updating hardware independent image updating from cs2 to cs3
Is it possible to run the sysprep (sans answer file?
) so at least I can image it to the other laptop and saving hours on installing the drivers/updates/software/etc?
In this tutorial we will prepare a Windows 10 image customizing the default user profile and install software we want to include in a clean Windows installation.
When everything is as we want we will generalize the image, making it totally hardware independent.
These are donated laptops so we don't have the original installation disc, originally runs Vista.
The hard disk consist of 3 partition (on this order): - S: service partition, created by Lenovo - C: OS partition - Q: something to do with recovery, never really figured it out Following the instruction and then image the disk using ghost to the target laptop, it encountered 2 issues: - windows fail to boot (something to do with active partition, fixed with running windows repair) - it keeps automatically log in using the administrator account created in the answer file even though password is provided Maybe I do have to enter the audit mode before doing the sysprep thing.
